Common damages and repair methods of air compressor bearings (A)
When the screw air compressor is running, the bearing connects the motor and the main engine. The motor drives the rotor of the main engine to rotate and compress the air. Therefore, the bearing bears a very large pressure when the air compressor is working, and it is also a part that is prone to damage. So what are the common damages to air compressor bearings? How to fix it?
Injury 1: Indentation and bruise
There are solid foreign objects stuck in the bearing or surface pits caused by external impacts and scratches caused during the installation process. Intrusion of solid foreign matter into the peeling piece, impact caused by poor installation, falling off, and installation in a tilted state may cause indentation and bruises. The way to repair this kind of damage is to improve the installation and use methods, clean the foreign matter to prevent the mixing of foreign matter. . If it is caused by metal pieces, other parts need to be checked.
Damage 2: Crack defects
Air compressor bearings have chips and cracks. The reasons for this phenomenon may be excessive impact load, large peeling, friction cracks, poor installation side accuracy (corner circle is too large), poor use (using a copper hammer, large foreign matter stuck). The repair method is to check the usage conditions, set appropriate interference and check materials, improve installation and usage methods, prevent friction cracks (check lubricant), and check the design around the bearing
Injury three: abrasion and entrapment
The bearing surface is rough, accompanied by slight dissolution, which is scratches. The scratches on the side of the ring and the roller end face are called jams. The causes of this damage include poor lubrication, foreign matter intrusion, bearing tilt, and oil breakage on the rib surface caused by large axial load. The repair measures are to replenish lubricant, improve lubrication methods, set appropriate preload, and strengthen sealing performance.
Damage 4: Electrical corrosion
Bearing electrical corrosion manifests itself as crater-shaped pits on the rolling surface, which develop further into corrugated plates. There is generally only one reason for this kind of damage: the rolling surface is energized. The repair measures are to make a current bypass valve and take insulation measures to prevent current from passing through the inside of the bearing.
Due to limited space, the next article will continue to show you the causes and solutions to damage phenomena such as cage breakage, rust corrosion, peeling and creep in air compressor bearings.
