Winter air compressor use guide
- The influence of cold air on the lubricating oil circuit
The oil system is an important part of the air compressor circulation system. During normal operation, the oil system will generate friction due to the rotation of the machine, and the heat generated by the friction will increase the temperature of the lubricating oil.
Low air temperature is very beneficial to the oil circuit system that needs to be cooled. However, for standby equipment or air compressors that have not been started all year round, when they are restarted in low temperature, the oil circuit may use lubricating oil to condense due to low temperature, and the start-up will fail.
So it is necessary to check the oil circuit system to see if the lubricating oil is in a normal state.
For the storage of lubricating oil, it is generally required to be stored in a heated room. If it is stored outdoors, the lubricating oil may be frozen due to the low temperature, and cannot be used immediately when needed.
Lubricating oil is a flammable item. It should be stored away from other materials when storing, so as not to be disturbed by other items and malfunction.
- The effect of cold air on the air compressor
After the cold air enters the air compressor, a large amount of water vapor will be generated when it encounters high temperature, which will increase the burden of water vapor filtration in the post-processing of the air compressor, so the water in the post-processing equipment needs to be discharged from time to time.
Compressed air enters the production area through pipelines and is used by users, and some of these pipelines are buried underground, and some go through open pipes in the air.
Walking through the open tube in cold weather may cause some moisture to be generated due to low temperature, and some may even have a certain impact on the normal use of users due to the increase in moisture.
For example, in the laser cutting machine industry, if the compressed air contains high oil and water content, it will affect the accuracy of the cutting process. In the mining industry, wet compressed air compressors may not affect the normal use of pneumatic tools, but it will affect the strength of pneumatic tools.
Note: After shutting down in winter, you must pay attention to emptying all gas, sewage, and water, and emptying the water, gas, and oil in various pipes and air bags. Because the temperature of the unit is relatively high when the unit is working in winter, the outside temperature is low after shutting down. After the air is cooled, a large amount of condensed water will be produced, which will exist in various control pipelines, which will easily cause hidden dangers such as blockage and cracking of the control pipelines.
- How to protect against the influence of cold air
(1) Key points of protection
Do a good job of cold protection measures for the electronic drain valve and pipeline system. The air compressed from the air machine will contain some moisture. When the condensed water is discharged through the automatic drain valve, it will be affected by the low temperature outside and freeze on the pipeline or other part.
(2) Do a good job of cold protection measures for the indoor temperature of the computer room
As the temperature drops, the viscosity of the lubricating oil of the air compressor will increase, which will have a great impact on the restart of the air compressor after a period of shutdown, and will also affect the life of the machine.
Confirmation of the working status of automatic drain valves for air compressors, air storage tanks, dryers, and filters
When off work or when the equipment is shut down, the drain valves of pipelines, gas storage tanks, dryers, etc. are fully opened, and the condensed water is cleaned up before closing the valves. Air compressor room temperature maintained above zero
(3) Close the exhaust outlet or adjust it to the room to adjust the indoor temperature
When the compressor is stopped or not running, it is necessary to properly activate the electric heater to adjust the temperature.
(4) Air compressor management during shutdown
After the compressor is stopped, the gas must be discharged to the display to show 0.0bar and then close the valve.
Open the automatic drain valves of air compressors, air storage tanks, and dryers. Close after allowing air and condensation to drain completely.
When shutting down for a long time, it must be started once a week, and then repeat the above operation after 3 hours.
